Part Time College

It’s a great feeling to finally leave high school in the dust. You may have pondered the notion of missing high school once it’s all over, but allow me to set your mind at ease. You won’t! I thought the same thing when I was grasping my diploma up on a stage. As it turned out, I never missed stinky old high school. The truth is I’m just glad it’s all over with. And naturally the Fall after high school ended, I tried my hand at college life. It was suddenly a whole new ballgame and the homework was fierce. Was I really cut out for this? After a year of diligent work, I quit and began working. I wasn’t so sure if a college career was up my alley. Maybe part time college would be easier to deal with. This way I could earn some cash and get college credits at the same time, but minus the heavy homework.

Are you all stressed out about college life? It’s not that uncommon to be so. We all get a little flustered and overwhelmed when we enter that University campus. It’s just not comparable to high school. Now is when you realize how easy and laid-back high school really was. Well, if you’d like to start out slow and not get too swamped with academics, you can always consider part time college. Tons of people your age do this. Many of them turn to part time college simply for work reasons. Maybe they already have a full-time job that they enjoy. It pays the bills and supports their part time college tuition. Makes sense right?

Think about what you want to do with your future. What are your interests and specialties at this point? Do you love to write, or maybe you’re enamored by psychology? Find something you want to make a career out of. This will help you decide on a major down the road. Just because you’re attending part time college, doesn’t mean it won’t fly by quickly. It always does. You see, the great thing about working and tackling only part time college is the debt factor. When school is over, you may not have one. That would be truly ideal. I think we’d all like to graduate with a bachelor’s degree and no debt to grapple with. Either way you decide to attain your higher eductaion, go after it as soon as possible. Years will fly by if you don’t. Suddenly you’re over 40, and having trouble acquiring a decent career.
